Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has invited his fans to share both their love and criticism about him as he turns a year older, instead of the usual birthday wishes.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Salasya took to social media, appearing to embrace opinions from the people he not only represents, and stated that he would apologize where he had gone wrong.

Aki kama unanipenda nipost tu na unitag and say something about me you like and you hate in me. Kama ni dem sema nilikukosea wapi, I apologise. (If you love me, just post and tag me and say something you like and something you hate about me. If you’re a girl, tell me where I went wrong, and I apologize),” Salasya said.

Besides seeking opinions about himself from his online fans, the youthful parliamentarian also invited those who wanted to celebrate with him.

Watu walizaliwa Feb huitwa aje na ina maana gani? For those who want to celebrate with me, can get in touch with Willow Willie Wams,” he added.

Online interactions

Salasya, known for his vibrant personality and engagement with the public, has never shied away from controversy.

He has been outspoken online, criticizing both the government and ordinary Kenyans whose statements and actions do not align with his beliefs, and his request reflects his interactive and bold approach to social media engagement, making him one of the most talked-about politicians in Kenya today.

Salasya on Fame

The lawmaker, who has always been open about his humble beginnings, assured his constituents and followers that neither wealth nor fame has altered his personality.

In a statement shared via his Instagram on Saturday, November 23, 2024, the legislator noted that he remains grounded despite his political position and fame.

Salasya shared a video of himself interacting with construction workers in his constituency.

In the post, he expressed his joy at returning home and connecting with the people who have supported him throughout his journey.

“Just landed in Mumias at home, and vijana are happy for me. Aki mimi pesa haijanibadilisha. I am still the same Petero they knew before. Content ya ku make them happy ndio imechange…youths are happy,” he wrote.

Salasya rose to fame in 2022 after winning the Mumias East parliamentary seat.
