‘I can only hope’ – Usain Bolt on his kids following his path like reggae icon Bob Marley’s

Usain Bolt hopes at least one of his children will follow in his footsteps, much like Bob Marley’s children carried on his legacy, but he refuses to pressure them into it.

The world’s fastest man alive Usain Bolt lives with the hope that one of his children, if not all, would take after him and explore the world of sprinting.

The eight-time Olympic champion is a father of three, a girl Olympia Lightning Bolt and twin boys, Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt.

Bolt, however, revealed that one of the twins, Thunder Bolt is highly likely to take a different path since he is quite slow and might not be able to match up to his father’s standard of competing.

Why Kishane Thompson’s decision to take part in the World Indoor Championships could be bad news for his competitors, especially Noah Lyles.

Usain Bolt also pointed out that even though he wishes one of his children would continue from where he left off, he does not want to pressure them into something they are not interested in.

He noted that if they chose to take his path, things would not be easy since they would constantly be compared to him, something that might affect them heavily.

Usain Bolt expressed admiration for Bob Marley’s children, Ziggy, Cedella, Sharon, Stephen, Ky-Mani, and Julian who took over his legacy and are some of the best reggae artists in the world.

OFFICIAL: Harambee Stars to host March World Cup qualifier against Gabon at Nyayo Stadium

Harambee Stars have not hosted a home clash at Nyayo National Stadium since November 2021.

“I’m not going to pressure them into doing anything, if they don’t want to run on the track, it’s fine. If they do something outside track and field, it will be less pressure for them,” Usain Bolt shared on the Meet the Mitchells podcast.

“If they choose something in the sport, there will be comparisons. I can only hope that even one of them gets into the sport.”

In a past interview on The Fix podcast, the 11-time world champion expressed admiration towards his daughter who is now four years old.

Benni McCarthy picks his assistant coach for Harambee Stars job

South African legend Benni McCarthy has reportedly decided on the men who will join his technical bench when he takes over as Harambee Stars coach.

Usain Bolt seemingly revealed that she might be the one to replace him since his twin sons are laid back.

“My daughter is actually cooler than my sons. She’s chill and she’s rough. She’s got tomboy energy, she climbs anything,” Usain Bolt shared.

While Usain Bolt hopes that at least one of his children will follow in his footsteps, he remains open-minded about their future paths.

The Jamaican sprint legend is determined to let them choose their passions without pressure, knowing that stepping into his legacy would come with immense expectations.

Whether on the track or elsewhere, Bolt is focused on helping his children find success and happiness in whatever they pursue.
