Football Kenya Federation has reportdely identified the man set to replace Beldine Odemba as Harambee Stars coach after a less than impressive stint.
Football Kenya Federation’s shakeup of national teams is set to also include the appointment of a new Harambee Starlets coach following reports that Beldine Odemba will be sacked.
Odemba is currently in Tunis for the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Tunisia, where Kenya need to avoid defeat to make it to the next round of the qualifiers.
However, according to Mozzart Sport, the die is cast for Odemba whichever way the match goes as FKF has decided that a change in the dugout is necessary even if Starlets proceed to the final round of the qualifiers.
“It’s been decided that Tuesday will be her last game as Starlets coach unless there’s a change of plan. It’s not about her as a person but the performance of the team,” a source told Mozzart Sport.
“There’s a feeling that to move forward, the technical bench needs to be revamped with the right people leading the girls. The team is talented, and time is ripe to inject new ideas and see how they perform.”

Odemba might have played her way out of the job with her decision during last Friday’s first leg encounter against Tunisia at Ulinzi Complex, which ended goalless, following her team’s toothless display, while questions were raised over why Simba Queens striker Jentrix Shikangwa started on the bench, and not introduced earlier, only coming on in the 90th minute.

Why Kishane Thompson’s decision to take part in the World Indoor Championships could be bad news for his competitors, especially Noah Lyles.
Former Vihiga Queens tactician Alex Alumirah, who handled Starlets in 2022, is the man that has been identified to take over from the Kenya Police Bullets coach.
“The federation wanted Alumirah to travel to Tunis, but that plan was shelved. However, it’s only a matter of time before he’s appointed as the head coach. He’s well-versed in women’s football, and there’s confidence that he’ll do well,” the source further explained.
Odemba, who also serves as Highway Secondary School coach, was handed the reins in September 2023 following Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor’s abrupt departure and has been in charge for eight games, winning two, drawing as many while losing five.
Her tactics and selection were also questioned during the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers when Kenya came close to sealing a place at the tournament but fluffed their lines in a two-legged final qualifier against Botswana, including missing penalties both at home and away.
