The two elections he led were both contested in the Supreme Court, with conflicting parties against the outcome.
Who are the chebikati?
According to the East African newspaper, Chebikati was born on December 22, 1961, in Bungoma County.

He attended Lenana School for his high education before receiving a law degree from the University of Nairobi and the Business Management degree from the University of Agriculture and Technology Jomo Kenyatta.
He was also a member of the Law Society (LSK) and the Authorized Secretariat.
Chebikati married Mary Chebikati, and gave birth to three children: Jonathan, Great, Emmanuel and Rachel.
In 2007, Chebikati won the Saboti parliamentary seat under the party Raila Odinga Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) but failed.
In 2017, the former president Uhuru Kenyatta He appointed Chebikati as the IEBC chairman, a position he held for six years until January 18, 2023.
He inherited Ahmed Issack Hassan as chairman of IEBC. His period was overwhelmed with controversy, with some commissioners resigning, which raised questions about his leadership.
