Munene, a KCA University student expected by a student in the City Hall Department of the Hall Annex, disappeared in a rare way on January 29, 2025.

His family, in a severe and tiring search, sought answers for more than three weeks, not knowing that their baby was lying in the intensive care unit (ICU) of KNH before dying two days later.

The shocking discovery has sparked a thorough investigation into incidents that led to the sudden death of Munene, with senior witnesses emerging and authorities initiating an investigation.

What happened to him

According to an emerging information, Munene left her work in Annex City Hall that evening after receiving a phone call from her close friend Keith Chacha.

Witness reports indicate that police officers confronted the two, arresting Chacha as Munene escaped.

His escape was not short -lived as he was trapped by a crowd at the intersection of Kirinyaga Road and Charles Rubia Road.

Charles Kamande, a bodaboda who witnessed part of the incident recalled a brutal incident with the crowd attacking Munene, accusing him of theft.

“It was about 6 pm. There were four young men coming down, and they were all friends. When they started arguing, I left. When I returned I found he was beaten,” The bodaboda narrator narrated.

Another witness, Edward Mwangi, claimed the student was being beaten until police intervened before being taken by an ambulance.

“The man grabbed the phone down, when he tried to escape the people arrested and hit him, the police arrived and prevented people from hitting him, came the ambulance, it took him and left, we don't know what happened later,” He said.

How did Munene die

He was rushed to KNH, where he received emergency treatment. However, his condition deteriorated, and he was admitted to the ICU but died two days later, Sunday, February 2.
