‘Some players are not Gor Mahia level!’

Sinisa Mihic has made his feelings known about the quality of some of the players at his disposal after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Bidco United.

Gor Mahia head coach Sinisa Mihic has launched a scathing attack on his players following a lacklustre performance against struggling Bidco United, as K’Ogalo were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Thursday afternoon.

The Serbian tactician, clearly exasperated, did not mince his words as he warned of a major squad overhaul if the team is to maintain its dominance in Kenyan football.

With just three matches under his belt as head coach, Mihic has already voiced his frustrations over his side’s inability to implement his tactical instructions, often animated on the touchline.

Shelly-Ann-Fraser-Pryce will go down as perhaps the greatest female sprinter of all time, but what does she eat that has played a key role in creating her legendary career?

“To be honest, we don’t have the quality. We need new players upfront,” Mihic fumed.

“If you put players on from the bench, they have to bring something if they are professionals. Not just walking around like that. We had players who came on and added absolutely nothing to the team.”

He went further, bluntly questioning the commitment and ability of some of his charges. “After what I’ve seen, we need quality. We played against a side hell-bent on defending, and we needed to change our approach. We need to refresh the team and replace some players if I’m the coach. Some are simply not of Gor Mahia calibre.”

Mihic was particularly livid with the lack of energy and urgency from his substitutes, stating, “These players should be more professional. Some of them contributed nothing and missed crucial chances.

'That upset me deeply'- Usain Bolt calls out Yohan Blake & others for disregarding coach Glen Mills

Usain Bolt has expressed disappointment in Yohan Blake and others for failing to follow Coach Glen Mills’ guidance, which led to their struggles.

“We had to bring fresh legs on because Bryson (Wangai), Charles (Bbale) and Samuel (Kapen) were not playing well. They might be mad at me, but that is the truth. The substitutes that came on made no impact, so we need quality players, guys.”

His frustration did not stop there, as he pointed out glaring weaknesses in the team’s structure. “I saw a problem in the back four. Our defence lacked speed, which is why we played better with full-backs.

“We also struggled to break them down because they sat deep and hit us on the counter. Our energy levels were subpar – they had an extra day of rest, and it showed. We have to score, but we are making too many mistakes. Some players are just not good enough for Gor Mahia.”

The disappointing stalemate saw Gor Mahia miss a golden opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Police FC, who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Mathare United.

Here is everything you need to know about the parents of Yohan Blake.

Despite Police’s slip-up, K’Ogalo could only cut the deficit to five points, now sitting on 36 points in the league standings.

Worryingly for the club’s faithful, the uninspiring performance against Bidco served as a prelude to the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby against arch-rivals AFC Leopards, scheduled for Sunday, 2nd March 2025.

With such a blunt attack and defensive frailties, Gor Mahia fans will be left wondering whether their side is ready to take on Ingwe in one of the most fiercely contested fixtures in Kenyan football.

Mihic’s brutally honest remarks may not sit well with everyone in the squad, but one thing is clear – the Serbian coach is demanding nothing short of excellence from his charges. Whether his words will ignite a reaction or further divide the dressing room remains to be seen.
