Michael Olunga makes major plea to Al Duhail ahead of top of the table clash.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has requested Al Duhail to purchase tickets for Kenyans living in Qatar in order to cheer him on Saturday.
Michael Olunga’s table-toping Qatar Stars League side Al Duhail is set to settle scores against second-placed Al Sadd in one of the many matches lined up this weekend.
“Kenyans in Qatar will enjoy complimentary access to Al Duhail’s away match against Al Sadd on Saturday, after the club purchased tickets for them at the request of Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga,” an X post revealed.
The move is meant to give Olunga the extra home support from the 12th man as they hope to get the better of their bitter rivals.
Al Duhail have opened a four-point gap against Al Sadd after mastering 35 point from 15 matches, with just five matches left. Al Duhail have won 11 matches, drawn twice and lost and many games.
Olunga has scored a total of 75 goals in 80 appearances for Al Duhail since joining the team in 2021.
Michael Olunga moved to Qatar Stars League champions Al-Duhail on a three-season contract, for a reported transfer fee of €6 million.
He made his debut for the club in a 3–1 away loss against Al Sadd.On January 25, 2021, Olunga scored a hat-trick in Duhail’s 6–0 win against Al Ahli in the Emir of Qatar Cup.

Olunga finished as the top scorer of the 2021 AFC Champions League, but Al-Duhail crashed out of the competition after a 1–1 draw with team Al Ahli Saudi in late April and Esteghlal qualified as group winners.
On May 8, 2023, Olunga and his club secured the 2022–23 Qatar Stars League title, scoring four goals in a 5–2 defeat of Al-Shamal.
