The fatal accident happened at 8:25 am (domestic clocks) on Wednesday, February 19, when Cessna 172s and Lancair 360 MK II collided in the air near the airport, located in the northwest of Tucson, Arizona.

According to the National Transportation Board of Transportation (NTSB), the plane collided while on the 12th Road, one of the two ways to fly and landed in the field.

CNN reports that following the effect, Cessna 172S successfully landed, while Lancair 360 MK II fell near the 3rd route, burning.

The Marana police department confirmed that two people on the Lancair ship lost their lives. However, information about the identity of the victims has not yet been released.

In a statement, Marana Regional Airport manager, Galen Beem gave condolences to the victims' families and acknowledged the immediate response from emergency services.

“On behalf of the Marana City and the Marana Regional Airport, our hearts go to all the people and families affected by this incident. of Zimamoto northwest, ” He said.

The Federation of Air Transport (FAA) and NTSB administration have initiated an investigation to find out what caused the traumatic conflict.

Despite these protocols, FAA emphasizes that all pilots working in uncontrolled atmosphere must adhere to the principles of federal travel, including the rules of the right of the way, the lowest appearance, and the elevation of security.

The center is currently registered in the FAA Air Traffic Program, which could lead to the control of the control tower in the future to enhance security.

At present, the airport is still temporarily closed as the authorities are continuing their investigation into the horrible air disaster.
