How Djibouti answered William Ruto's remarks

However, Djibouti has blamed President Ruto, blaming him for his dishonesty and remarks about the results of the AUC election.

In a post on X, Ambassador Moussa Mohamed Omar, a communications expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti, emphasized that African leaders made the right decision in electing Mahmoud.

According to Omar, the results of the vote showed that heads of state refused to allow the African Union Commission to be affected by Kenyan internal politics.

“In response to President Ruto on Citizen TV Kenya: Claiming Africa 'lost a chance' is a dishonest. The 33 leaders of the country chose Mahmoud, the best choice for African challenges, refusing to allow or become a hostage of Kenyan domestic politics. Africa deserved better than Raila, ”Omar said.

Meanwhile, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka He claimed President Ruto was to blame for Raila's defeat in the AUC.

According to the Wiper leader, the president allegedly committed diplomatic mistakes that cost the former prime minister on the mainland.

Speaking at a church service in Kitui County on Sunday, February 16, Kalonzo claimed Raila's expectation in the continental race was overwhelmed by Ruto's efforts to reconcile conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to Kalonzo, the South African Development Community (SADC) had issues on how Ruto handled DR Congo's conflict.

The former vice president claimed many SADC member states had voted for Mahmoud to oppose Ruto's allegations of interfering with DR Congo's internal affairs.
