PS Belio Kipsang mourns death of Johnson Nzioka

Principal Secretary for the State Department for Basic Education Belio Kipsang has sent a message of condolence following the tragic passing of Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA) Chairman Johnson Nzioka.

Kipsang revealed that Nzioka lost his life in a road accident.

In a statement shared on X on Monday, February 17, 2025, Kipsang expressed shock at Nzioka’s untimely death, describing him as a dedicated leader, passionate educator, and a pillar in the education sector.

Nzioka, also the head teacher of Donholm Primary School, was known for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of teachers and the promotion of quality education. The PS highlighted his leadership within KEPSHA, which advocated for better policies, improved learning conditions, and the overall development of primary education in the country.

“We have learned with shock the untimely passing of Mr. Johnson Nzioka, Chairman of the Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA), who tragically lost his life in a road accident. Mr. Nzioka was a dedicated leader, a passionate educator, and a pillar in the education sector. His unwavering commitment to improving primary education in Kenya has left an indelible mark on countless learners, teachers, and school administrators. His leadership, vision, and tireless efforts in championing the welfare of Head Teachers and quality Education will be greatly missed,” Kipsang noted.

He noted that Nzioka was deeply committed to improving primary education in Kenya. His efforts impacted countless learners, teachers, and school administrators. As KEPSHA chairman, he tirelessly championed the welfare of head teachers and promoted quality education in the country.

On behalf of the ministry, Kipsang extended heartfelt condolences to Nzioka’s family, his 22 teachers, students of Donholm Primary School, the teaching fraternity, friends, and all stakeholders in the education sector. He wished them strength and comfort during this difficult time.
