LSK president Faith Odhiambo feted by UK legal body
The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Faith Odhiambo has won the seventh Commonwealth Law Conference, Rule of Law Award.
Odhiambo was conferred for her exemplary role in championing, promoting and maintaining the rule of law in Kenya by the England-based Commonwealth Lawyers Association (CLA).
Since she assumed office as LSK president, Odhiambo has been a leading figure advocating for human rights and a vocal campaigner against protracted cases of human rights abuses and excess of the government in the country.

She was awarded the 2024 Jurist of the Year award in December for her outstanding role in defending the rights of protesters during the nationwide anti-finance bill protests witnessed in June 2024.
More recently through her organization. Odhiambo provided legal representation for the over 40 youth in Isiolo on Monday, February 10, 2025,
The youth had been arrested in a security crackdown that was conducted in Isiolo moments after President William Ruto. Thanks to her and the LSK’s intervention, the 48 youths were arraigned at the Isiolo Law Courts where they took pleas and released.
The lawyer has also spoken out on the Mlolongo abductions, femicides, and gender-based violence cases in the country, among others.
Odhiambo rose to the helm of LSK in February 2024 after winning the body’s election. She had been serving the society as its vice president under Eric Theuri.
She boasts an illustrious academic background, including an LLB (Hons) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and an LLM (Hons) in International Commercial Law with European Law from the University of Kent (UK).
The Commonwealth Lawyers Association Headquarters is located in the city of Bristol.
