Harambee Stars midfielder Chrispine Erambo clinches Tusker’s February Player of the Month

Harambee Stars midfielder Chrispine Erambo has been named Tusker player of the month for the month of February.

Harambee Stars midfielder Chris Erambo has been named Tusker’ player of the month for February following a string of impressive performances at the heart of midfield for The Brewers.

The award, determined by votes from fellow players, recognizes consistency and impact over the course of the month. Erambo secured the accolade with 16 votes out of 29 cast, surpassing fellow nominees—striker Ryan Ogam (7 votes) and midfielder Siwa Shaphan (6 votes).

The selection process, overseen by Tusker FC’s Technical Bench led by the Head Coach and analysis team, initially identified 17 top performers from the club’s last 12 matches.

Kayci Odhiambo nearly quit football altogether while playing for Mount Kenya United before he joined AFC Leopards in 2021.

This was narrowed down to three finalists based on performance metrics before players cast their votes to determine the winner.

Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Erambo dedicated his win to his teammates, acknowledging their crucial role in his success.

“I am truly honored to receive this award. It means a lot to be recognized by my teammates, the people I train and play with every day.

“Football is a team effort, and I couldn’t have done this without their support. This motivates me to keep pushing harder and contributing to the team’s success,” Erambo stated.

Ryan Ogam: How a coaching gamble turned him from midfield hustler to goal-scoring prodigy

Ogam has been earning all the plaudits following impressive performances as a striker for Tusker, but he had been playing as a central midfielder prior to joining the club.

Tusker Brand Manager Christine Kariuki reaffirmed the company’s commitment to celebrating excellence within the club and encouraging players to maintain high-performance standards.

“At Tusker, we believe in celebrating effort, not just in moments of victory but in the journey—the countless hours of training, the resilience in tough matches, and the discipline it takes to consistently deliver top performances.

“That is why we proudly support Tusker FC, a team that embodies these values week in, week out,” Kariuki remarked.

She added, “Football is not just about individual brilliance but about teamwork and the drive to always be better. And while every player plays a crucial role in the team’s success, we believe in taking a moment to also appreciate one player whose hard work has truly stood out.”

Tusker FC Head Coach Charles Okere lauded Erambo’s impact, highlighting his consistency and leadership on the pitch.

“Erambo has been exceptional over the past two months, showing great skill, discipline, and determination. His performances have been crucial for the team, and this recognition from his teammates speaks volumes about his impact.

“At Tusker FC, we emphasize teamwork and consistency, and Chrispine has been a standout in both aspects. I congratulate him on this well-deserved award and encourage all our players to keep pushing as the season intensifies,” Okere said.

The Player of the Month award is part of Tusker FC’s internal recognition program, aimed at motivating players and fostering a culture of excellence within the squad.

Tusker FC currently sits in second place in the FKF Premier League, level on 38 points with leaders Kenya Police FC, who edge them on goal difference.

The two sides played to a goalless draw in an intense top-of-the-table clash at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, last Saturday.

Tusker now shifts focus to their upcoming showdown against Gor Mahia on Sunday, February 16, at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

The Brewers will be aiming to reclaim the top spot, having secured a 2-1 victory over Gor Mahia in their last encounter at the same venue.
