Tanzanian Bongo Flava singer Diamond Platnumz has openly professed his love for his girlfriend, Tanzanian songstress Zuhura Othman, aka Zuchu, in a sweet Valentine’s post, saying he has never been in love with any woman as deeply as he is with her.

Taking to his Instagram on Friday, February 14, 2025, the Wasafi CEO gushed over Zuchu in tender Swahili poetic words, admitting that he even lacked the perfect words to describe just how sweet she was or how deeply he loved her.

“Lile neno mtamu kama nini ama mzuri kama nini ama nampenda kama nini, ile nini ambayo upendo, uzuri, utamu na thamani yake imepitiliza hadi haielezeki, basi ndio wewe kwangu… wengi niliwahi kuwa nao lakini hapajatokea aliyewahi kupendwa nami kama zaidi yako.” He wrote.

Loosely translated to: “That word for sweet like what, or beautiful like what, or love like what—where love, beauty, sweetness, and value surpass all description—that is you to me… I have been with many, but none have ever been loved by me more than you.”

The singer, who also shared a photo of Zuchu looking stunning in a dotted top that matched her leopard-print-dyed weave, went on to express how every moment spent with her is his best and that he truly cannot wait for their big day when they finally tie the knot.

Letting Diamond down

The ‘Baba Lao’ hitmaker then addressed recent controversies surrounding their relationship, expressing his wish that Zuchu truly understood how deeply he loves and adores her—and why she should never believe anything from those claiming otherwise.

Diamond suggested that Zuchu leaning toward those spreading false claims about their relationship was because she had allowed them to, which, to some extent, was letting him down.

Unaniangusha tu kwa kutojua huyu fala anakupenda kiasi gani,” he said.

Loosely translated to: “You’re letting me down simply by not realizing how much this fool loves you.”

While at it, Diamond even referred to online critics as online flies, accusing them of swaying Zuchu’s decisions and pulling her away from him.

“Na kuacha hawa nzi wa mitandaoni wakuendeshe kwa kutumia tuvituvitu vya kwenye kazi yangu,” he remarked.

Loosely translated to: “And allowing these online flies to control you using small bits of my work.”

Further, he advised the ‘Sukari’ crooner that in such situations, when critics heat up discussions and distort the truth about them, she should never engage, as she had done before. Instead, he urged her to continue living her life happily because they were incredibly blessed.

“Hawa hautakiwi kuwajibu kwa reaction yoyote zaidi ya kuenjoy maisha na kufurahia baraka tulizojaliwa na Mwenyezi Mungu. Happy Valentine, Zuuh. Happy Valentine, Nni.” He concluded.

Loosely translated to: “You should never respond to them with any reaction other than enjoying life and celebrating the blessings we have been granted by God. Happy Valentine, Zuuh. Happy Valentine, my love.”

Rocky past

Since their paths first crossed, the two lovebirds have frequently made headlines for their on-and-off relationship, often leaving their fans with mixed reactions.

For instance, on November 12, 2024, Zuchu shocked fans when she announced that her relationship with Diamond had ended after just three years of being together.

The songstress even took to social media to break the news, stating that she was the one who had decided to walk away because she felt it was the best decision for her. However, she noted that Diamond had also agreed that they should part ways.

“After three years of dating, Nasib [Diamond Platnumz] and I have positively decided to call it quits,” Zuchu wrote in an Instagram post, adding that it was a mutual decision between them.

‘Young, Famous & African’ controversy

One of the most recent controversies between the couple surfaced after Diamond, while playing his role in the newly released Season 3 of the Netflix reality show Young, Famous & African, denied that Zuchu was his girlfriend, insisting instead that she was just his artiste.

His statements sparked a social media uproar, with fans interpreting them to mean that their relationship was over.

However, after days of scrutiny, Diamond came out to clarify that his words had been taken out of context. He explained that his statements were merely part of a script and that his role required him to act flirtatiously.

The Bongo star went even further to warn fans against using edited clips from Young, Famous, & African to hurt Zuchu, emphasizing that the show is scripted and that he plays the role of a womanizer.

“Huo ni mchezo kama michezo mingine, ‘jua kali’ na kadharika, na character yangu humo ni hio ‘mtu wa totoz’… Tutazame, tuenjoy na tujivune kama Watanzania tumeua, na si kujaribu kukatakata vipande kwa lengo la kumuumiza Zuhura, si vyema,” Diamond wrote.

Loosely translated to: “It’s just a show like any other—like Jua Kali and others—and my character there is that of a ladies’ man… Let’s watch, enjoy, and take pride as Tanzanians in how well we’ve done, rather than chopping up clips with the intention of hurting Zuhura—it’s not right.”
