Mbosso opens up about his battle with congenital heart condition
Celebrated Bongo Flava artiste Mbosso Khan on Thursday, February 13, 2025, took to Instagram to share his emotional journey battling a congenital heart condition.
The singer, widely known for his romantic ballads and heartfelt lyrics, detailed his diagnosis and successful treatment, crediting President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s health initiative for enabling his recovery.
In his candid revelation, Mbosso disclosed that on December 28, 2024, he participated in a heart health screening held at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) in Dar es Salaam.
The initiative, spearheaded by President Samia in collaboration with JKCI, the National Arts Council of Tanzania (BASATA), and the Tanzania Film Board, aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of heart health and preventive care.

During the screening, doctors discovered that the singer had been living with a congenital heart condition affecting the electrical impulses of his heart.
While the diagnosis was unexpected, Mbosso expressed relief that treatment was available within Tanzania, contrary to the belief that such cases required overseas medical intervention.
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah!” he shared with gratitude.
Mbosso, who recently left Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi record, described the past few days leading up to his treatment as some of the most nerve-wracking moments of his life.
However, his fears turned into joy when a team of expert cardiologists from Egypt and Tanzania successfully treated him in a procedure that lasted just one hour.

The artiste expressed overwhelming gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for supporting local healthcare initiatives that made his treatment possible.
“Shukrani zangu nyingi za dhati zikufikie popote ulipo Mheshimiwa Rais wetu Tanzania, Mama yangu @samia_suluhu_hassan. Asante sana Mama! The singer also extended his appreciation to BASATA Executive Secretary Kedmon Mapana, JKCI Director General Dr. Peter Kisenge, and the entire medical team who ensured he received the best care possible.
He described the hospital environment as comforting and welcoming, akin to being at home.
