Grant Holloway has explained that winning the Olympic title ‘doesn’t change much’ in his life, as he always knew he was capable of it.

Reigning Olympic 110m hurdles champion Grant Holloway has explained why winning the Olympic title never changed a lot of things in his life unlike Gabby Thomas, Noah Lyles and Julien Alfred.

Grant Holloway explained that he knew what was in store for him in Paris and winning the race was not a point of surprise for him.

The American insisted that he was just about showcasing his talent to the world and after doing so, life went back to normal.

“Being an Olympic Champion doesn’t change much. I tell everybody, I knew I was Olympic Champion before going to Paris, I just had to show the world. That being said, I know what I’m capable of and we will see what happens,” Grant Holloway said in a pre-race press conference ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold in Lievin, France.

Speaking ahead of the event, Grant Holloway hinted at the possibility of going for the meeting and world records, revealing that his body feels great.

He holds the world record time of 7.27 seconds, which he set early last year and feels like it’s high time to lower it.

Grant Holloway explained that the meeting Lievin has been very instrumental in shaping his seasons and he hopes things continue that way going to this season.

“The Meeting Record and World Record are kind of quick, but I think that I’m in shape for that. Once the gun goes off there’s no room for error, I want to get the victory,” Holloway said.

“This year is different because it’s still early in the season for me but this meet is usually the time where I come into form. I know what I’m capable of. The current world lead of 7.38 is just a warm-up run for me, I’m expected to go quick.”
