Amid a $12.8M fraud case and stalled government action over his lost investment, Usain Bolt lashed out at a fan by retorting, ‘Don’t be a syndicate.’

After he slammed the government for not solving his money crisis, some Jamaicans have started confronting Usain Bolt for tarnishing the country’s reputation.

Usain Bolt lost $12.8 million in 2023, with his lawyer announcing that he had invested with a Jamaican firm.

At the time, there was an alleged case of fraud at the wealth management firm Stocks & Securities Ltd (SSL). However, things went under the radar and Usain Bolt decided to speak about the issue on The Fix podcast.

His vent has not been received well by some fans but one X user, Venesha Phillips seemed to get the attention of Usain Bolt.

She replied to the tweet about Usain Bolt asking the government to pull up their socks, asking the legendary Jamaican sprinter if the government was involved when he invested.

“Did you get advice or directive from Government directly or indirectly regarding making the investment you made and then lost?” she asked.

“Was it all privately done? Have you sued the person who managed your affairs? These questions if answered will give us here perspective.

“Because at the end of the day, it is going hurt Jamaica a lot, so I try avoid that,” he explained regarding his decision to go silent.”

Replying to the comment, Usain Bolt said: “Trying to victim shame me.. don’t be a Syndicate!”

Meanwhile, on the podcast, Usain Bolt mentioned that he might have to take matters into his own hands since everyone has become complacent in dealing with the case.

He seemed to be losing hope about the case, revealing that at the end of the day, he might not receive anything.

He explained that the government has all the power to help in the investigations and help him get the closure but nothing is being done.
