World second fastest man Yohan Blake seems to be determined to make a triumphant return to the track going by his latest social media update.
Jamaican sprint legend Yohan Blake looks to be determined to mount a strong comeback on track following his struggles with injury and form in recent years.
The 2011 world 100m champion has not featured at a global event since the 2022 World Championships, missing the 2023 edition as well as the Paris 2024 Olympics.
However, the 35-year-old seems to have sent a defiant message following his advice on overcoming challenges as he looks to unleash the beast in him.
“Dear Friend. Remember, within you lies an incredible potential waiting to be unleashed,” Blake posted on X.
“Every challenge you face is not a roadblock but a stepping stone to greatness. Embrace your journey with courage and determination, for every small step forward is a victory. Believe.”
Blake has had to endure challenges in recent years, missing a number of top events after injury setbacks but he has remained resolute in his spirit.
The sprinter’s last race was the 2024 London Diamond League when he finished eighth but he remains the second fastest man in history with his 100m time of 9.69 seconds only bettered by Usain Bolt’s world record of 9.58.
