How many MPs do you have in parliament?

In his decision on Wednesday, February 12, Wetang'ula said the record from the Registrar of Political Parties shows that the Kenyan Union first has the most members in the parliament.

According to the numbers read by Wetang'ula, the Union of President William Ruto of Kenya first has 165 members, while Union Declaration One Kenya Coalition Party with 154 members.

“It is known that, even if it was considered that 4 positions would be filled for parties that former members were elected or proposed; and their number was added to the number of two alliances, the Kenyan Union Commonwealth Association would still not find many members in Parliament.

“The Declaration Union Association has 154 members … the Kenyan Union first has 165 members. The Kenyan Union is the first party and the resolution Coalition is a minority party in the parliament. Due to the previous one, Kenya first is the majority and a few resolutions. The leadership of Parliament has not yet changed, ” Weta said.

Following Wetang'ula's decision, Kimani Ichungwa He remains in his position as a leader of the majority, with Junet Mohamed remaining a minority leader in the national parliament.

Wetang'ula's decision faced opposition from resolution MPs led by South South MP Millie Odhiambowho differed from Wetangula's decision.

Odhiambo said that the resolution coalition would choose to take further action against the Speaker's decision.

“As a resolution with great respect we do not agree with your communications … as a resolution we will take further action,” Odhiambo said.

Shortly thereafter, members of the United Kenya Coalition Party of the disadvantaged came out of Parliament.

The decision of the Speaker comes after tensions broke out on Tuesday, February 11, when members of the Union Declaration of the Union tried to cross the side of the majority of Parliament, citing a recent court ruling that declared them a legitimate party in parliament.

The move by the resolution MPs, led by celebrities such as Junet Mohamed, Millie Odhiambo, and Robert Mbui, sparked intense debate on the floor of Parliament.

The opposition leaders emphasized that their new status of many, as confirmed by the Supreme Court's decision, gave them the right to hold the positions of leadership and the benefits associated with them.
