Olympic 200m champion and World Athlete of the Year Letsile Tebogo is ready to ignite the track once again as he shifts his focus to the 100m at the Shanghai Diamond League.

The Botswanan sprint sensation, who took the athletics world by storm in 2024, is determined to capture his first-ever Diamond Trophy and cement his place among sprinting’s elite.

Tebogo made history in 2024, storming to a dominant 200m Olympic title and clinching five Diamond League victories between July and September.


Letsile Tebogo is preparing for the 2025 campaign but his coach is struggling with how to best plan his season given the nature of this year’s track programme.


However, despite his remarkable season, he narrowly missed out on the Diamond League title in Brussels.

Now, with a fresh challenge in mind, the 21-year-old has set his sights on conquering the 100m in 2025.

The Shanghai/Keqiao meeting, the second stop on the Wanda Diamond League circuit, will be a crucial battleground for Tebogo as he embarks on his quest for the Diamond Trophy.

Competing against a world-class field, the sprinter is eager to make his mark and secure early points on the Road to the Final.
