John Mbadi suggests a plan to upset ODM Secretary Edwin Sifuna: “We'll dismiss him”

Homa Bay – National Treasury Minister John Mbadi has sparked a debate within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after the party's Secretary -General, Edwin Sifuna.

Mbadi expresses commitment to community development

Earlier this week, Mbadi expressed his commitment to community development when he joined other Homa Bay County leaders to encourage resources to improve the Sasi Primary School infrastructure in the Kanyadoto ward, the Ndhiwa parliament.

The February 8 effort emphasized a common solidarity in improving education infrastructure in the region, highlighting the importance of the leadership that goes beyond politics.

Mbadi used the opportunity to ignore Sifuna's authority within the ODM, reminding him of how he quickly removed former party secretary, Ababu Nwamba.

“You still say Sifuna tells them he is the ODM? Gladys, listen, go tell him that I don't chew that the chair he is holding I drove and took it within an hour. Even he, we will drive him out, ” Said Mbadi, showing the possibility of tension within the party.

These remarks come at a time when ODM is going through major internal changes following the formation of a broader government consisting of various political parties.

Some ODM MPs have joined the administration of Kenya firstwhich raises concerns about the solidarity and future of the party.

Edwin Sifuna wishes ODM members to move UDA

Despite these challenges, Sifuna has been recognized for his trust on the basis of ODM.

The Nairobi Senator has remained firmly in pushing the party's agenda and developing its policies, even when the political situation becomes increasingly difficult.

Speaking at a public event, Sifuna blamed some ODM members for deviation from the party's foundations, stressing that the ODM was not created to remain in opposition forever.

He gave his members a stern warning, demanding that they stand firm to defend the rights of Kenyans or leave the party and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) of the President William Ruto.

These changes within the ODM have prompted many to evaluate the future of the party, especially in maintaining its influence in the midst of the change of alliances and the struggle of emerging authorities.
