Chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC) Moussa Faki has left a strong sentiment to the African Union's General Assembly as his term is about to be completed before the election of leaders scheduled for Saturday, February 15.

Speaking during the 46th regular session on Wednesday, February 12, Faki confirmed he would officially leave March 15.
According to Citizen Digital, he expressed many thanks to the leading position AUC, reflecting on his time with emotion.
“My throat is overwhelmed with emotion,” he said, adding, “I will be out of my time, and I will not stay one day more.”
The regular session, which is expected to continue on Thursday, February 13, will also oversee the election of six commissioners to hold key AUC positions, including agriculture, economic development, education, infrastructure and energy, political issues, peace and security and health.

The elections come at an important time for the African Union, with member states discussing key issues such as economic cooperation, peace plans and infrastructure development under the upcoming leadership.
