Political activist and government accountability advocate Morara Kebaso has expressed concerns after unknown people went and dropped a coffin at his Utawala furniture workshop.
Taking to his official X account on Monday, February 10, 2025, Morara stated that the incident happened on the night of Saturday, February 8, 2025.
The lawyer-cum businessman who has since ventured into politics called on the perpetrators of the incident to leave his family out of politics.
He went on to mock the person who had made the coffin, stating that he is more skilled to make a better coffin than the one that was dropped at his workshop.
“Whoever dropped this coffin at my Utawala workshop on saturday night, do you know who my father is? Do you know that my father in heaven created the brain and hands that make coffins? I can make you a better one. Kuja mchana nikutengenezee jeneza safi. Leave my wife and family out of politics,” Morara lamented.

The said coffin, as seen in the photo shared by Morara, is white-colored with black graphics that showed a ‘Rest in Peace’ message.
Two names, Mercy and David, were also written on the coffin using a black paint.

Morara further shared a CCTV footage of a youthful man seen dropping the coffin at the workshop.
“The youth of Kenya have no decent employment. They have opted for bodaboda to earn a living. Now you useless politicians are using them to deliver coffins. Instead of creating opportunities. Allow my home and my place of work to be a place where i find peace. Deliver your promises to the people instead of delivering coffins to my home in ruiru and my office in utawala,” Morara stated.

Morara decries harassment
Morara who already declared his interest for the 2027 presidential seat has previously lamented what he described as relentless harassment by the state.
In a post shared on X on January 16, 2025, Morara outlined his ordeal, accusing authorities of targeting him for his political and professional activities.
“In the last few weeks I have been hounded and tormented by the state,” Morara began, sharing his frustrations with his followers.

The Inject Party leader claimed that one of the party’s vehicles had been confiscated without explanation, legal complaint, or due process.
Additionally, he stated that he was under investigation for what he described as legitimate business dealings.
“I have been investigated for doing legal business and earning a living. My freedom of expression is now being pursued at Eldoret Law Courts,” he added, referencing ongoing legal challenges that he says are part of a broader effort to silence him.
Surveillance and isolation
Morara also claimed that he was being monitored and followed by unidentified individuals, a situation that has left him feeling isolated.
“I am followed, monitored and surveilled by unknown people. I have lost my joy, my appetite and friends who fear being pursued by the state,” he lamented.
Despite these struggles, Morara vowed to remain steadfast in his principles.
“But I continue to stand strong for my values. The values and principles of honesty, integrity, and humility. Through resilience and consistency, I hope to inspire young people to step up for leadership without fear. Ninaamini Itabadilika (I believe it will change),” he stated.
