‘He is about to be more of a threat’- Ato Boldon warns Noah Lyles about Kishane Thompson

The four-time Olympic medallist believes Kishane Thompson has improved and will pose an even greater threat to Noah Lyles this season.

Trinidadian sprint legend Ato Boldon believes that Kishane Thompson poses an even greater threat to Noah Lyles this season than he was in 2024.

The four-time Olympic medallist believes that Kishane Thompson has learnt from his mistakes and will be back to take what he missed out on last season, sending warning shots to Noah Lyles.

Ato Boldon revealed that he cannot rule out the Jamaican sprint king and following his explosive start to the season, Noah Lyles should be worried.

Despite having an amazing holiday, Julien Alfred was eager to move on and return to her routine, embracing the next phase of her journey.

“He is about to be more of a threat than he was last year, I think if you made me pick right now, I’d be hard-pressed to keep Kishane off. I think the podium is going to look a lot like Paris,” he said on an Instagram live.

Kishane Thompson started his season with a 60m outdoor win at the Central Hurdles Relays and Field Events before making his indoor debut at the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes where he also dominated.

On his part, Noah Lyles also competed at the RADD Sports College Invitational and Multi-Event where he won the race before extending the winning streak to the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.

At the Paris Olympic Games last year, Kishane Thompson painfully lost to Noah Lyles in the 100m and he will be looking to seek revenge this season.

Noah Lyles crossed the finish line first in 9.79 seconds, five-thousandths of a second faster than Kishane Thompson who came in second. Fred Kerley rounded up the podium in 9.81 seconds.

The American is the defending champion in the 100m and 200m at the World Championships but Kishane Thompson’s main focus is to dethrone him in the 100m.

Inexperience cost him a chance to shine in Paris but going to Tokyo, Kishane Thompson is planning to do whatever it takes to take the win and Ato Boldon believes that is how things will go down later this year.
