Uhuru Kenyatta gives congratulations to Richard Otieno

Speaking during a memorial service on Wednesday, February 5, Advocate Dan Mwangi presented a sincere message of freedom to the abandoned family.

Mwangi said Uhuru sent KSh 500,000 to help the widow and children of Otieno during this difficult period.

“When Uhuru Kenyatta sent me to represent him. When Richard was killed, I informed him of our history together, and he was very sad. He was not very happy that Richard was brutally murdered, leaving a young family. He is very sorry for them,” Mwangi said, adding, “He sent me with KSh 500,000 to support his children, this difficult time with his family gathering with Richard.”

He assured the family that the money would be used responsibly to help widow and children, in honor of the inheritance of Otieno's responsibility.

Mwangi, also a close ally of the late activist, reminded of their work together during the 2017 and 2022 election campaigns, as well as during the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) debates, where Otieno supported the former president.

Claiming justice to the killed activist, Mwangi urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those involved are held accountable.

“He was my dear friend. During the 2017 destination elections, he played an important role in our campaign, and 2022, stood with us during the campaign of Union Declaration Raila Odinga and Martha Karua. He also played a major role in the fight for the BBI, which Uhuru pushed to improve our economy. It is not enough just to bury Mwangi. “

He further questioned the cause of the attack and asked investigators to go beyond the suspects arrested to identify and expose the sponsors.

Richard Otieno's murder and political movement

Otieno was attacked and killed on January 18 on his way to Elburgon after watching the Premier League (EPL) match.

His attackers lied to him near his residence, just minutes after he called his wife to open the gate.

DCI has arrested 5 suspects linked to Richard Otieno murder

The suspects include Geoffrey Mavado, John Ndegwa, Jorim Ngonga Chapter (primary suspects), Clinton Simanu, and Peter Mwaniki (boda boda).
