Musician Stevo Simple Boy has responded to his ex-wife Grace Atieno’s plea for child support.
The ‘Mihadarati’ hitmaker, who Grace had claimed was the father of her child, insisted in a video that he was not the child’s father and that she had created the rumours with his brother, who he claims is the child’s father.
He further issued a 48 hour ultimatum for Grace to prove that he was the child’s father, failure to which he would move to court for legal action.
“Tangu jana nimeona vitu zinatendeka kwa mtandao lakini sijafurahia, imebidi niongee. Kakangu na Grace walikua na uhusiano, nikamfukuza kwa empire kwa sababu hakuna kitu alikua anafanya, kakangu na Grace wakaungana wakalipa mtu wa media ili watangaze ati mtoto ni wangu; na Grace mahali uko unajua mtoto si wangu, nimekupatia 48 hours u prove kama mtoto ni wangu, na mimi niko tayari kuenda DNA, la sivyo,utapata mkono wa sheria na utapata barua kutoka kwa lawyer wangu,” Stevo said.
Grace’s claims
Earlier, Grace had come out to beg for child support from the artiste one claims that he was her child’s father.
She also clarified that the initial reports that she had the child with another man were false insisting that Stevo should take responsibility of her child.
“Kenye naeza ambia Stevo ni awache kuskiza story za watu, akue ananisupport pia ju hakuna anything ananisaidia, last akinisupport nilikua kwake, hio time allikua Mombasa nikijifungua, akanipigia ati naskia story kuhusu mtoto si wangu, nikamuuliza nani amekuambia ju tumekaa na wewe hizo siku zote na haujai niambia hio story, akaniambia tu ni mtu wa familia,” she narrated.
When confronted with Stevo’s adultery allegations, Grace refuted the reports, claiming that the singer had always been sceptical of her since they were together, and that her efforts to persuade him that she was a devoted wife had failed.
“Stevo alikua akinishuku tu na story mob, lakini mi najua nlkua nayeye, hadi nlimbeg, nikamuuliza story ya mtoto,” she said.
Break-up
Grace and Stevo parted ways amicably after the rapper disclosed that she was pregnant with another man’s child.
At the time, the ‘Mihadarati’ hitmaker decried that he was battling depression after learning of his wife’s ‘infidelity’.
“The pregnancy is not mine. We weren’t together after my father’s funeral and she came back pregnant,” Stevo said.
He pointed out that the worst letdown he had experienced was Grace’s failure to verify the child’s paternity, even after giving birth, which confused him.
“Tulikuwa sawa hapo mbele. We were living together. Then, when she was about to give birth, someone called me and whispered to me that they needed to tell me something. They said it was about time they revealed the truth to me and that I shouldn’t be upset. They told me the baby is not mine. Mtoto si wangu,” he said.
