The American sprinter used the opportunity to remind his fiancée all her wins of the past year as she looks forward to more success.
Olympics champion Noah Lyles has gushed over his fiancée Junelle Bromfield as she celebrates her 27th birthday.
Bromfield turned a year older on Saturday and her husband-to-be took the opportunity to remind her how special she is and the things they have accomplished together.
The Jamaican quarter-miler had an excellent 2024, even if she did not win a medal at the Paris Olympics, as she competed as an individual athlete for the first time, running the 400m, and got engaged to Lyles in a colourful ceremony last October before the two moved into a new house.
The two 200m runners had a go at their fellow sprinter after he made the bizarre request ahead of the 2025 World Championships.
“Happy Birthday my Beautiful Fiancé! 26 was definitely your year!” Lyles posted on social media while celebrating the love of his life.
“You bought a house, a car, became a 2x Olympian, walked in a fashion show, started plans for your own business, and grew as a person. I’m so excited to see what this next year has for you! Love You.”
Lyles has been there in good and bad times for Bromfield and was key in helping her overcome the online abuse that she received from her country Jamaica as well as death threats following the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The two also train at the same camp and have been big on social media, letting their fans in on their personal lives.
Noah Lyles showed his commitment to Junelle Bromfield in April last year when he splashed nearly $50,000 to buy her a luxury car, a Genesis GV70, and went further by giving her the keys to a luxury new house that he purchased shortly after their engagement in October.
With the 2025 track season just starting, Bromfield will be hoping that 27 is equally filled with wins just like 26.
