Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi would win the governor's race against celebrities like Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino if the elections were held today.

This is according to the polls released by Politrack Africa on Thursday, February 6.

The votes, which were held through telephone interviews in all parliamentary constituencies in Nairobi County, showed that Wanyonyi leading the election at 33%.

Wanyonyi, who is also the brother of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula, would be closely followed by a vote by a Member of Parliament Embakasi North James Gakuya got 30.1%.

The third emerged is Grandpa Owino He got 20.3% followed by Sakaja who took fourth place at 11.2%.

Former Nairobi governor's candidate Polycarp Igathe took the eighth place and was the most recommended by 1.0%.

Who is Tim Wanyonyi?

Wanyonyi has served as a Westlands MP since 2013.

A referendum by the balance in March last year indicated that Grandpa would win the Nairobi governor's seat if the elections were held at that time.

Babu Owino led the vote, with 37.3% of the respondents favored.

The study shows that he would win in eight of the 17 constituencies, supported by Embakasi East, where he led 82.4%.

He was also expected to win in eight parliamentary constituencies, with Westlands showing a large support of 74.5 percent, despite having a small number of voters.
