Usain Bolt-likened Gout Gout explains his dream target when he turns 24.
Australian teenage sprinting sensation Gout Gout has hit global headlines for his mind boggling times and comparisons to retired Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt.
The 17-year-old has sent a warning to Noah Lyles as he plans to make a splash on the world stage this year. He broke Bolt’s Under-16 200m record last year and then smashed the Australian national record, held for 56 years by Peter Norman, when he set a time of 20.04.
Grant Holloway has refused to accept the title of GOAT despite his dominance in the 110mH ever since turning pro in 2019.
As much as his eyes are fixated on the world championships in Tokyo and the Los Angeles Olympics 2028, Gout Gout has said his ultimate goal is to race in front of home fans when the Olympic Games head to Brisbane in 2032.
In a podcast with Noah Lyles, the Olympic 100m champion who doubles up as the six-time world champion, and fellow American track star Grant Holloway, Beyond The Records podcast, Gout Gout said: “That’s the end goal, for sure (to run at Brisbane 2032). Obviously LA, which is in 2028. I’m looking forward to that. I’ll be aiming to head there and also the World Championships this year in Tokyo. I’m aiming to be there as well.”

Wonderkid athletes like Gout Gout have been earning comparisons to Usain Bolt, and Justin Gatlin is not a fan of it.
Gout Gout will only be 24 by the time the Games head to his hometown. Gout is planning to race in Tokyo and the times he is posting shows he is more than ready to announce himself. The world is already watching him and those comparisons to eight-time Olympic gold medal winner Bolt seems to gather pace.
Gout Gout was a relative unknown when the Olympics rolled around last summer, but Los Angeles in 2028 are already on his mind.
While his 100m times are electrifying, Gout considers the 200m his signature event, aligning with Lyles’ own preference.
