Leonard Mambo Mbotela, born Freetown Mombasa in 1940, has died
Mbotela has participated in various projects and in 2022 he was sworn in as a member of the Board of the National Council of Heroes Kenya.

He had married Alice Mwakali, and the couple were given three children together.
