Administrator appeals to land document owners to collect them – Kenya News Agency

A court Administrator at Busia Law Court namely Joseph Bosire has urged members of the public who submitted their title deeds as bond/surety to their kin at the facility to avail themselves and collect the documents.

Bosire told KNA on Thursday that the documents have been in the custody of the facility since 2012 with no one coming to claim them.

“Some of these documents are here because the accused persons failed to attend court sessions,” he said explaining that the owners of the documents have a right to visit the court and be issued with warrant of arrest and assist the court in tracing the accused persons as they pick their documents.

He further explained that in case the accused person is at large, the court could auction the land parcel so that it gets the due surety amount and give the remaining balance to the land owner.

“I therefore want to urge members of the public to be keen in ensuring that those whom they guarantee through surety attend court sessions without fail,” Bosire pleaded.

The said documents were deposited at the facility from 2012 to 2017 with the legal cases having been concluded and disposed of.
