Oga Obinna asks Kenyans to suggest affordable rehabs to enroll rapper Stoopid Boy

Media personality Oga Obinna has called on Kenyans to recommend reputable and budget-friendly rehabilitation centers as he moves forward with his plan to enroll Gota City rapper Stoopid Boy.

In a post shared on his Instagram on Wednesday, January 5, 2025, the Obinna Live show host emphasized his commitment to helping the controversial artiste, stating that he would enroll him as soon as he identified a suitable facility.

“Any good and affordable rehabilitation centers around Nairobi for substance abuse? Comment below—I’ll visit them today so we can hook up a brother and get him back on his feet @kingpheezle,” he posted.

This comes after he hosted the rapper on his show on Monday, January 2, 2025, where he asked him whether his struggle with alcohol was a long-standing issue stemming from past habits.

Stoopid Boy admitted that he was indeed battling the problem, confessing that he wanted to quit drinking but was struggling to stop.

Public drunkenness controversy

The Gota City rapper had been forced to defend himself following the circulation of videos that showed him intoxicated and causing a commotion at Quiver Lounge in Nairobi.

In the videos, the singer lectured security officers at the popular joint after he was pushed out, saying he was a big artiste and that he should have been allowed entrance for free.

This sparked a wave of trolling from his fans, who called him out for his escalating drunkenness, especially since the incident came just weeks after another viral video showed him attempting to pick a fight with a fellow reveller at an undisclosed bar.

Woman who siphoned his money

The rapper then opened up about a past relationship, revealing that he had once been with a woman who was only interested in him because of his money.

However, he explained that the woman extravagantly spent his money, leaving him broke before eventually walking out on him.

Stoopid Boy even became emotional as he recalled the various challenges he faced, including how quickly she abandoned him once his financial situation deteriorated.

“Huyo msichana ndiye anafanyanga nakasirika. Huyo madam wangu alinipendanga nikiwa na doh nikasota. Hiyo time hata sikuwa naimbanga. Aliniacha juu ya mihadarati nilikuwa natumia mihadarati mingi,” he lamented.

Struggles with hard drugs

The singer further disclosed that he had previously been addicted to hard drugs, a phase that significantly affected his life and played a major role in his girlfriend’s departure.

He admitted that he used to consume various pills, which he did not specifically name, but revealed that he regularly purchased them from a pharmacy for personal use, satisfying his intense craving for different substances.

However, he denied Obinna’s speculation that he was using marijuana, instead emphasizing his desire to turn his life around and get back on track with his music career if given the right support.

“Madawa mingi hata si pombe. Lakini nilikujanga nikaziwacha. Nilikuwa nazitoanga kwa daktari. Nilikuwa nazimeza ndio nitulie tu. Mdenge wangu alikuwa tu ni msee alikuwa na maneno mingi. Alipata job kwa Equity Bank na ni kama alioleka huko,” he revealed.
