Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson’s administration has announced that it has embarked on a programme to rehabilitate all dilapidated roads and walkways throughout the capital.
The rehabilitation of Moi Avenue Service Lane, which began yesterday, is expected to be completed today. The lane measures 400 metres and includes parking areas and a driveway.
The road rehabilitation is one of many initiatives undertaken by Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson to improve the overall urban environment and enhance the quality of life by restoring order and dignity in the City of Nairobi.
According to Mr Ibrahim Auma, the County Executive Committee Member for the Mobility and Works Sector, the repair and rehabilitation works will encompass fixing potholes, cracks, and pedestrian walkways in the Central Business District (CBD) as well as in other areas of the city.
” The ongoing repairs is part of Governor Sakaja’s transformative agenga meant to enhance mobility and accessibility, improve traffic flow and reduce congestion while at the same time making it easy for the road users to access different areas,as well as improve the aesthetic appeal of the City”. said the Mobility and Works CEC Member.
He added that the County Government is committed to providing quality infrastructure and services to its residents.
Other areas scheduled for repair and rehabilitation include Mfangano Lane, Haileselassie Avenue Service Lane, Kirinyaga Road, Racecourse Road, and pothole patching on all roads in the CBD.
