‘I look forward to it’ – Paul Odera on KRU appointment

Former national rugby 15s team coach Paul Odera aims to develop Kenya’s rugby pathways after being appointed director of rugby by KRU.

Paul Odera has said he’s looking forward to achieving the three-legged African stool following his appointment as the new director of rugby and pathway manager by the Kenya Rugby Union.

Odera’s appointment is geared towards enhancing the development of rugby across all levels in the country. The former 15s coach was the under-18 head coach prior to his elevation.


Kenya Sevens team Shujaa are in a tough group in the Perth Leg and Sasha Mutai explains their key to success.


“I look forward to achieving the three-legged African stool,” Odera said.

KRU Chairman, Sasha Mutai, expressed confidence in Odera’s capabilities, stating, “Paul Odera has done it all in Kenya Rugby, as a player, Captain and as a Coach at age grade level all the way to the National Team, the Simbas.

Shujaa will be looking to get out of the group stages at the upcoming Perth 7s tournament in Australia.
