‘Acha nione kama nitaanza na basi ama mtoto’

Veteran comedian and digital content creator Eddie Butita has congratulated fellow comedian Timothy Kimani, alias Njugush, and his wife, Celestine Ndinda, for acquiring a second matatu.

Taking to his Instagram account on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Butita disclosed that he is learning from his friends about parenting and family investments.

He further jokingly said that he is still undecided whether he will start with having a child or acquiring a matatu.

“Wuuuuuuuueh Congratulations @blessednjugush @celestinendinda kila mtoto na basi yake, I’m learning sitawaangusha. Acha nione kama nitaanza na basi ama mtoto, lakini nashuku mtoto ndio rahisi kwanza,” Butita wrote.

Njugush’s matatu business

Njugush and Cele ventured into the matatu industry in April 2024.

Speaking at the grand unveiling of his first matatu, Njugush expressed excitement about venturing into new business opportunities.

“I want to explore various avenues, including farming. It’s about seizing opportunities that others have laid the groundwork for. This venture is a trial, and I’m hopeful it will be successful. It’s the way forward. We should capitalise on our successes to invest wisely as artists,” Njugush said.

The comedian thanked his close friends, including Butita, Abel Mutua, Judy Mutua, and Philip Karanja, for supporting his dreams.

“These are the individuals whose photos adorn the interior of our matatu. It’s by the grace of God. Hard work plays a part, but ultimately, it’s God’s hand that guides us. Kenyans, please support our venture. I can’t fully express how I feel, but I hope for the best,” Njugush said.

The power couple has named both 36-seater matatus after their two sons, Tugi and Toria.

Butita’s love life

Little is known about Butita’s current love life, ever since he broke up with his fellow standup comedian and digital content creator Eunice Wanjiku Njoki, widely known as Mammito, on November 21, 2022. The SPM Buzz founder has not publicly declared his romantic relationship status.

The comic guru has always been teased by his fans to get a wife whenever he is in the company of his friends Abel Mutua, Timothy Kimani, aka Njugush, and their spouses, Cele and Judy.

On Monday, February 3, 2025, Butita, during an interview, shared that he cannot define his current relationship status as dating, joking that he still struggles to accept the idea that he’s not in a relationship.

“I don’t think I’m single, and I don’t think I’m dating. Niko hapa hapa, niko katika harakati ya kutega na kutenda,” he said.
