In an incident that has surprised the nation, the remains of George Kalaba's bones, a man whose body was hidden in his home for two years by his wife, Sylvia October Kalaba, was finally buried.

Why did Sylvia save her husband's remains?

Sylvia claimed that her spiritual counselor instructed her to do so to gain strength for her prophetic ministry.

Detectives were left with a surprise about how Sylvia and her family were able to withstand the bad smell of the body that was rotting.

It is alleged that Sylvia did not inform the police or relatives about Kalaba's death and continued to perform prayer rites in her home without anyone discovering the horrible secret in her room.

The allegations say that the rites were related to spiritual power, which were said from the presence of the dead body.

Police arrested Sylvia's pastor

The case took another horrible stream after police arrested the sixth suspect, Preteria Mbandama Musela, 44, who was involved in rites to raise Kalaba and Sylvia.

Police spokesman Rae Hamoonga revealed that Musela attended prayer rites aimed at bringing Kalaba to life and was the first person to be informed about her death.

It is reported that Musela saw Kalaba's body on November 21, 2023, and has now been charged as a partner after the murder incident.

Authorities revealed that Sylvia involved her children – Natasha Kalaba, 19, Sandra Kalaba, 22, Wendi Kalaba, 27, and a 15 -year -old – in those rites from 2023 to January 13, 2025.

All members of the family have been arrested to assist in ongoing investigations.

How was Kalaba's body discovered?

The horrible discovery took place after Kalaba's older brother, Emmanuel Kalaba, 55, submitted a report to the police expressing his concern about the prolonged absence of his brother.

Emmanuel said that Sylvia had been preventing her and other relatives from visiting Kalaba since mid -2023.

His doubts intensified when he spoke to the tenant's tenant who revealed that George had not been seen for two years and that Sylvia had banned foreigners.

When the police arrived at Kalaba's house, they found the door locked inside. When they entered, they found the remains of the body turning bones in bed.

Sylvia and her children were found in the house, with no signs of fear despite the poor condition of the body.

The remains of Kalaba were transported to the University of University Training Hospital (Uth) for a post -death examination to determine the cause of his death.
