Elimu SACCO delegates in Turkana County have re-elected Wycliffe Meyen Akuyo and Sylvia Ajikon to serve another two-year term as their representatives in an exercise conducted in accordance with cooperative regulations.
The elections, held in Lodwar and presided over by the County Director of Cooperatives and Marketing, Shemmy Ebulon reaffirmed Akuyo as the County Government delegates’ representative and Ajikon as the Ministries delegates’ representative.
The Ministries delegates’ grouping consists of members drawn from National Government units, corporate organizations, businessmen, and unattached individual contributors.
The elections took place during a delegates’ meeting organized by the SACCO management.
Speaking at the event, Director for Cooperatives and Marketing Shemmy Ebulon hailed the SACCO’s commitment to transparency and urged members to support their representatives.
“The re-elected office holders have pledged to serve diligently in their acceptance speeches. Let’s give them the opportunity to deliver,” she said.
The elections come at a time when the County Government has intensified efforts to promote the uptake of cooperatives across Turkana, reinforced by the presence of the County Directorate of Cooperatives at the event.
