Timothy Ouma finally unveiled by Czech giants after Ksh473 million move

The Harambee Stars midfielder’s transfer to Czech Republic has finally been confirmed after signing a four-year deal with Slavia Prague.

Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma has finally been unveiled by Czech side Slavia Prague after completing his big-money move from Swedish club Elfsborg.

Ouma was signed for a reported 40 million Kronor (Ksh473 million) and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract that runs up to June 2029, beginning a new chapter in his career.

“Timothy is a young, talented player, a representative of his country. We believe that he will be an asset to the typology of our game. He has great physical qualities, can speed up the game, is dominant in personal duels,” said Slavia Prague Sporting Director Jiri Bilek.

The Kenyan international is reportedly close to being unveiled by Slavia Prague and it has been revealed why he chose the Czech side over interested clubs from England and France.

“He is also hardened by European matches. We have been watching him for a long time, we are convinced that he will be able to handle the demands of Slavia. I thank Elfsborg for fair dealings,”

Ouma revealed his delight at joining the club which he feels will take his career to the next level.

“It feels great. I can’t wait to join the team and take the next step in my career. Slavia has a great team, it’s a challenge and an honor for me to be a part of it,” said Ouma who becomes Slavia’s fifth midseason signing after Divino Teah, David Moses, Vasiljuj Kusej and Jakub Markovic.

Timothy Ouma: The two English clubs & French side that lost Ksh473m bidding war for Harambee Stars midfielder

Kenyan midfielder Timothy Ouma is close to being unveiled by Slavia Prague but he would have been in England or France right now had the Czech side not won the bidding war.

Ouma has been with Elfsborg since 2022, and during the last Allsvenskan season, which ended in mid-November, he started 23 games, scoring once and adding two assists as Elfsborg finished seventh, 20 points behind champions Malmo.

This season’s Swedish league is yet to start but the midfielder had made 13 Europa League appearances, scoring two goals and providing an assist, before the transfer to Prague.
