Nairobi – Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Aden Duale has launched a fierce attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Sunday, February 2, Duale blamed Gachagua for being ineffective in cabinet meetings.

He claimed that the deputy president was removed from office was not making any meaningful contribution to the cabinet and now criticizing the government he was in the wrong way.

Duale said that as Deputy President, Gachagua was responsible for leading all sub -committees of the Cabinet, including those that deal with complex issues such as the Adani agreement and the 2024 financial bill.

According to Duale, no matter was presented to the Cabinet without first reviewing these sub -committees, which means that Gachagua had a great influence on government policies.

“In the current administration, nothing comes to the Cabinet without first approved by a subcommittee headed by the Deputy President,” Said Duale.

The minister also criticized Gachagua's recent remarks that all ministers in the President's government William Ruto It is just a seal to approve decisions without asking them.

Gachagua called the ministers “yes people” and “flower girls” without free thought.

“Do I look like a flower girl?” Duale questioned. “The former deputy president calls the girls ministers of flowers. This is an unhealthy thing and is not accountable, ” he added.

In addition, he claimed that if anyone did not make any contribution to the cabinet meetings, then it was Guacha himself.

“I tell you clearly, between me and he, is Gachagua who did not make any contribution to the cabinet meetings,” Said Duale.

How did Duale talk about kidnapping?

In addition to political conflicts, Duale also ignored the growing concerns about the increase in kidnapping and arbitrary killings in the country.

“In the previous administration, thousands and thousands of people died. Take the camera, turn on Garissa, Mombasa, Mandera – any city – and ask those who lost their loved ones during the previous administration to appear. They would gather to Uhuru Park, ”he claimed.

Duale emphasized that President Ruto does not favor the kidnapping and that his government is working hard to address the issue.

“This is unacceptable, according to the government and the constitution. President Ruto and we do not believe in kidnapping. If there is anyone within the security forces responsible for the kidnapping, that is not the president's position,”He said.

According to Duale, the Ruto government has been taking concrete steps to address arbitrary killings and even pay close attention to its administrative agenda.
