Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has strongly criticized the recent visit William Ruto Western Kenya, saying that the area has been ignored in developmental issues.
According to Natembeya, the President's visit did not bring major projects, but signs only such as the launch of electricity and water transformers
“The other day, the president was in the West for six days, even here at Mount Elgon. What did he launch? There are people who mislead the President. They brought him to the West for six days, but what did he launch? ” Natembeya asked.
Natembeya also blamed Ruto's advisers, accusing them of misleading the President for the needs and priorities of the people of western Kenya.
“They tell the President to launch a market that was built a long time ago, and then they lay the cornerstone saying 'it was officially launched by Mr. President.' Then he takes her to another place to launch the transformers. The whole president of the Republic! Even here in Trans Nzoia, the President once came to launch a water pipe, ” He said.
He urged Ruto to re -consider his close advisers, saying they were cheating on him instead of giving him accurate information about the real needs of the people.
Natembeya expressed his sadness over the lack of development in western Kenya and emphasized that the area deserves infrastructure projects similar to other parts of the country.
“When I say the West is not progressive, I tell the truth. We want development to be distributed equally because we are all Kenyans, ” He said.

Natembeya also accused the Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula for failing to fight for the development of their area despite being close to the authorities.
He cited the Saboti area, where he was speaking, saying since independence, there is still no paved road despite its importance to farmers who transport goods to the market.

He likened the situation in western Kenya to other areas he served as the Regional Commissioner, where roads are built but not in use.
“In some parts of this country, you find paved roads where people dry maize or goats sleeping on it. The roads are heading to an unclear place. But here, we ask the road to transport maize and potatoes from the countryside to the market,He complained.
Natembeya also criticized the notion that areas must show obedience to the government for development.
“We will not be involved in the tendency to kneel in front of people to make progress. That's a disgrace. We all pay taxes and deserve the same infrastructure, ” He insisted.
What did Gachagua say about the Ruto Development visit in western Kenya?
Natembeya's statements come after the same remarks of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachaguawho He criticized Ruto's development commitments in the western region.
He accused Ruto of conducting a ruling regime and misleading the public, claiming that Ruto always promises projects without a specific budget or time for implementation.
Quoting the President's promise before the election to build 1,000 kilometers of paved roads in western Kenya, Gachagua noted that the promise has not yet been fulfilled, instead Ruto launched a transformer.
