This follows the proposal of the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki Regarding the possibility of the removal of the Embu governor, Cecily Mbarire, from his position as the national chairman of the party.

Speaking on Thursday, January 30, Kindiki accused Mbarire of failing to protect President William Ruto against public allegations during his recent visit to Embu.

“I have talked to my sister CESS, Embu governor and my mUDA long politically. I asked him, if you are the Governor of Uda and the national chairman of the party, how is it possible for the party leader, the president, to come to your city and be criticized? “ Kindiki questioned.

Kindiki continued to criticize Mbarire, saying that if he could not prevent such events, then there was no reason for him to remain in the party leadership.

“How is this possible? Young people are whispering to the president for what he said they probably don't like to hear. Now what do we have to leave you in leadership?” Kindiki added.

The tension within UDA comes just a few months after the former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachaguaremoved from office and even members of his party, then thrown out of the UDA leadership.
