‘They messed with the wrong one’

The sprinter has expressed relief after getting crucial leads that will help authorities arrest a group of hostile men who have been harassing her at airports in the United States.

Olympic champion Gabby Thomas seems to be making great progress in regards to a worrying incident where a group of unknown men have been following and harassing her at airports.

Thomas made the shocking revelation on Tuesday when she sought advice from fans online what she should do regarding the worrying incident where a group of three to six men, who have her flight information, show up at every airport that she travels through, harasses and demand that she signs photos and if she refuses, they become aggressive.

Following the suggestions, the sprinter even showed a clip where she had confronted one of the men, who put on his hoodie once he learnt that the athlete was recording him, and from that clip, Thomas has made great progress.

According to the information Thomas has received, one of the men is a 27-year-old resident of Skokie, a village in Cook County, Illinois, and has a criminal history as he was arrested on October 23, 2023 over a yet to be known incident.

Olympic champion Gabby Thomas gives details about the hell she goes through before boarding flights.

“My team got a tip via email and we think that this [Skokie resident] might be one of the guys in the video. He has an arrest history and he has a history of calling airlines everyday to get flight reservation information about famous people and athletes,” the Georgia-born athlete, who now lives in Austin, Texas shared on TikTok on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old then raised concerns over who could be selling information to the men at airports and what the motive of the men is, while revealing her worry of what else they know about her.

“So, on one hand, I am kind of relieved that I am not alone in this but on the other hand, I am wondering who is selling him this information? Like who is he bribing at the airport to get our private information and how much more of my information does he have,” added Thomas, who won three gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“The Chicago Airport doesn’t have a police department that I can follow up with but I will just have to file a police report and follow up with a detective on this and then I will do the same for Miami, but this is crazy.
