Nairobi – Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has opened up about his relationship with the President William Ruto.
Omtatah has been the brightest mcmatic of the rule of Kenya firstoften taking steps to march on the streets or go to court to oppose his policies.

In an interview with TV47 on Wednesday, January 29, the extremist MP gave a rare illumination about his backdrop of the curtain with the head of state.
Omtatah revealed that the last time he spoke to Ruto was before the 2022 general election, saying that their telephone conversation lasted for about 15 minutes.
The senator explained that, despite their previous communications, he has never spoken to the President since he took office.
He explained that their previous talks were civilized, adding that they laughed at the conversation.
“Yes, I have his number. The last time we talked it was before he got president. He called me when I was near Naivasha. I was driving home and he called me. We talked for about 15 minutes. Yes. Yes, we were laughing,” He said.

Omtatah and Ruto private session
Omtatah further revealed that before the phone, they had a private meeting during his daughter's graduation at Strathmore University, an event that Ruto also attended.
According to the MP, their ways met outside the political sphere, giving them the opportunity to participate in regular negotiations.
“Even when my daughter graduated from Strathmore, her daughter graduated too. We met there. She had her family. She welcomed me to her mother. We talked. So we got to know each other out of power,” revealed Omtatah.
Despite their civilized communication, the Senator quickly separated the Ruto administration style.
Omtatah made it clear that his disagreement with the President was not due to personal hatred but his strong position on the constitutional rule.
