Washington – Many people are feared dead following a fatal plane crash in the United States.
CNN reported that a commercial plane collided in the air with a Black Hawk helicopter when the plane was approaching the flight at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday, January 29.
Aviation officials revealed that the fatal accident occurred when the plane, operated by the PSA Airlines airline on behalf of American Airlines, was trying to land before 9pm.
In a statement to the media, American Airlines said there were 60 passengers and four staff on the plane, Bombardier CRJ-700.
“Our concern is for passengers and staff aboard the plane. We contact the authorities and support emergency efforts,” The airline said.
Approximately two bodies have been found in the Potomac River with the search for more victims.
US President Donald Trump He made a statement about the incident, saying he was monitoring the situation.
“I have been fully informed of the tragic accident that has occurred at Reagan National Airport. May God rest their souls in paradise. Thank you for the good work done by our first participants. I am tracking the situation,” Trump said as reported by the BBC.
