Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is set to excite Jamaicans living in the US after revealing the great plan she has in store for them ahead of her trip to New York.

Jamaican athletics fans living in the United States will get a rare opportunity to brush shoulders with the country’s track legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Fraser-Pryce will be in the United States this week to promote her new haircare line AFIMI and she will use the opportunity to meet Jamaicans in the diaspora.

The 38-year-old launched the hair product in July 2024, a day before the Paris Olympics began, and is now set to start promoting it with the first stop in New York.

“Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, eight-time Olympic medalist, will connect with the Caribbean community for a special Meet & Greet in Queens, NY at VP Records,” reads the message from her Instagram page.

Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will head to the United States to promote her latest venture as she begins to prepare for life beyond track.

“The event, in partnership with Irie Jam Radio will feature a live broadcast and give fans a chance to learn about her new clean beauty hair care line, AFIMI: The Essence of Jamaica.”

Fraser-Pryce hopes her new venture will be successful just like her athletics career, having described her product range as being a vibrant tribute to her Jamaican roots, and a testament to her belief in self-expression through hair.

The mother one will meet fans on January 28, two days before a press tour in the same US city, to help familiarize the haircare line with would-be customers in the United States ahead of its grand opening in Jamaica at a yet to be revealed date.

“New York, are you ready?! AFIMI is bringing the essence of Jamaica to NYC,” Fraser-Pryce announced on Saturday through an Instagram post.

“Join us for an exclusive AFIMI Pop-Up @shopify NY from Feb 1st – Feb 2nd and experience Shelly-Ann’s vision for redefining hair care. Discover the AFIMI 8-step system, crafted with premium natural ingredients to nourish and care for all hair types.

“2025 is all about getting our hair back on track, and AFIMI—meaning “It’s Mine” in Jamaican Patois—is a love letter to beauty, strength, and heritage.”

Fraser-Pryce seems to be preparing for life after athletics as she gets into the twilight years of her career with her future in the sport still not known as she has kept mum since pulling out of her 100m semi-final at the Paris Olympics.

The 10-time world champion has not given any update regarding when she intends to make a track comeback, with many of her rivals having returned to training, and even competition, ahead of the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan in September.
