The former Nairobi City Stars player has reportedly finalized his big-money transfer to the Czech giants after days of speculation.
Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma has reportedly completed his multi-million transfer to Czech giants Slavia Prague.
Reports in the Swedish media say Ouma has signed for Slavia Prague for 40 million Kronor (Ksh473 million) from IF Elfsborg, ending speculation over his future.
Ouma was reported to have completed his medical on Monday and what was remaining was the final formalities of the transfer which have now been completed in what Swedish outlet Elfsborg Daily terms a record deal.
“Elfsborg sells Timothy Ouma to Slavia Prague for over 40 million kronor. The transfer is complete, the medical examination has been completed, and Elfsborg has over 20% in the resale clause. Presentation is expected this weekend,” Elfsborg Daily posted on X.
Ouma has had a meteoric rise at Elfsborg since joining the club in 2022 from FKF Premier League club Nairobi City Stars and has enjoyed playing in the Europa League this season, featuring in 13 matches from the qualifiers to the tournament proper, while scoring two goals and providing an assist.
His impressive performances in the competition attracted interest from clubs in Europe with English, Italian and French sides expressing a desire to sign him, but it is Slavia Prague who tabled an offer that IF Elfsborg found hard to resist.
Ouma’s transfer has taken place at a time when IF Elfsborg were preparing for the new Swedish league season while they have a match against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday.
Slavia Prague will also have a match in the competition the same day, taking on Malmo, a team Ouma knows so well from his time in Sweden, and he will hope to play a role.
