Embu – One family in Runyenjes mourns the death of their 15 -year -old son, a second -year student at St. Francis Kanja.
Shelton Caleb died of injuries he suffered in an altercation with a classmate earlier this week.
What caused the death of Shelton Caleb?
According to a family spokesman who reported to TUKO.co.ke, Shelton suffered a hand injury during an altercation with a classmate.
After the incident, he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment on Tuesday night, January 21. The next day, his family was called to take him.
To Luck Worse, Shelton's condition worsened, and he was taken to Radiant Hospital in Nairobi, where he died while waiting for the injured hand surgery.
“His parents received sad news about his death in the hospital. We are now trying to understand the exact cause of his death, ” A family spokesman said.
Family efforts to meet with school management to find out about the event have faced obstacles.
Despite the preliminary agreement between her mother Shelton, Leah Kiema, and the headmaster to discuss the matter, the family arrived at the school and found the gate closed.
“We arrived at the school gate and found it closed. The guards informed us that we could not enter. The attempt to call the headmaster was unsuccessful as their phone was not available, ” A family spokesman complained.
The family has accused the school of hiding important information and expressing their anger over the lack of communication. Leah Kiema said:
“I sent a message to the headmaster and phoned him several times, but they ignored it. We feel there is something they are trying to hide. ”
Police initiate an investigation into the death of Shelton
Embu's OCPD, Anthony Maina, confirmed receiving reports on Shelton's death. He assured the family that the investigation is ongoing.
“Parents say the child died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nairobi. We continue to explore the truth about this event, ” Maina said.
While awaiting the results of the corpse surgery to identify the exact cause of death, the Shelton family has asked the authorities and volunteers to help them expose the truth and hold responsibility.
“We need justice for our child. The school should make sure that no other child will suffer such suffering, and not to hide the truth, ” The family said.
When they are sad about losing their loved one, the family aims to seek justice and to make sure such events are not repeated.
