Eric Kapaito’s coach opens up on why Harambee Stars striker has struggled in Tanzania

The former Tusker striker is yet to make his presence felt at Namungo FC despite joining with a big reputation but his coach is not giving up on him just yet.

Namungo FC coach Juma Mgunda is backing Kenyan striker Eric Kapaito to come good in the second part of the season.

Kapaito has struggled for form since joining the Tanzania club following his one-year stint at Tusker FC.

The striker netted 13 goals for the brewers last season but is yet to get on the scoresheet for his new team, raising concerns over his form, but his coach is not pressing the panic button just yet, as he feels the player has been hampered by injuries.

The goalkeeping legend has given reasons why he is worried that Kenya may take long before finding another top player between the posts.

“That is a great striker I have. It has been very difficult for him because he was on and off with an injury but at the moment, he is 100 percent fit,” Mgunda told Telecomasia.net.

“I have seen what he can do in training and the matches he has played in the league and I am more than confident that he will spur us to success in the second leg. He is intelligent and quite good on the ball and I have so much faith in him.”

Mgunda will hope that the striker hits the ground running in the second leg as Namungo badly needs his goals given their precarious position on the league table.

AFC Leopards reveal why ex-coach Tomas Trucha is still getting paid two months since his departure

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has opened up on the reasons behind the club not stopping payments to former coach Tomas Trucha despite exiting Ingwe in November.

The team are 12th in the 16-team league on 17 points from 16 matches and will be looking for improved form in the second half of the season to get higher up the table.

Kapaito will be vital in the team achieving its objectives and can endear himself to the fans quickly by scoring goals as he did at Tusker last season.

The forward similarly started his Tusker career slowly but blossomed in the second part of the campaign and can draw inspiration from his stint in Ruaraka.
