Kishane Thompson has opened up about how he handles pressure, revealing that he knows what he is supposed to do on the track and that’s what he focuses on majorly.

The Jamaican sprinter pointed out that he is human and feels things intensely but he also puts in the work to ensure they don’t get into his head.

The Olympic 100m silver medallist admitted that being one of Jamaica’s top sprinters since Usain Bolt’s retirement, there is some certain kind of pressure that comes with that.

When he fails to perform, people will always talk and Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Noah Lyles’ girlfriend Junelle Bromfield and Kishane have all admitted that Jamaican fans are some of the most ruthless when their top athletes don’t perform.

They disclosed that they always love and hate in equal measure but for Kishane, he has learnt to focus on his training and working smart with the main goal of making a name for himself.

“I don’t know, probably it’s a natural thing…I’m not going to say I try not to be pressured or I don’t think about it,” Kishane Thompson said in a past press conference.

“I just do me, you know, I don’t listen to the negatives. I mean, we are human beings, we are going to hear them but at the end of the day for me, I just do what I have to do. I have to stay true to my training, recovery and the things that bring me the highlight.”

He expressed excitement to have made his indoor debut at the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes, the opening World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting of 2025.

Kishane revealed that he is trying out a new experience, something that makes his career interesting and added that he hopes to make a statement in his first race.
