Why Gachagua put Western Kenyan voters on alert

Talking to his followers through TikTok On Thursday, January 23, he noted that the model would be similar to that of Mount Kenya, where Ruto seems to be no longer approaching; the last time he was in Mount Kenya was November 2024.
The former vice president warned the voters of Western Kenya to recognize Ruto's tricks.
“I want to tell the people of Western Kenya to be very careful and learn from us. The president was here for five years, spending six days a week in Mount Kenya, that's how he convinced us to vote for him. You are just drawn in the same way that Mount Kenya attracted us. Now, he doesn't come here anymore because we know him, he can't use the same tactics anymore. He was in church every Sunday and he knew every street by name. But now he's gone because the people of Mount Kenya know him. He lied to us and tricked us, we have seen that strategy before,” said Gachagua.
Gachagua also used the short platform to respond to Ruto, a day after the president accused him of corruption, indifference and tribalism.

He said that no number of government positions offered to the people of Mount Kenya will change the political situation.
According to Gachagua, Ruto lied to Mount Kenya to cause his removal from power in October last year, and that the area aims to create new political friendships apart from the president.
