With at least two years to go before the election, the legal heavyweight is already setting the stage for a fierce contest, declaring his intention to bring new leadership to the capital.

In an interview with NTV, Omari did not mince words as he accused the current Nairobi senator, Edwin Sifuna, of failing to ensure accountability in the use of county funds by the Governor's administration. Johnson.

“Nairobi needs a strong person to be a senator. “So this is the time for Sifuna to be governor. So, I will be in the race to replace Sifuna because, as lawyers, we are presidents, so that in 2032, I will also be the governor of Nairobi,” he announced with confidence.

Why is Omari joining the Nairobi senatorial race?

Omari, who moved from teaching to law and has served in the judiciary for more than a decade, believes the time has come for him to bring his expertise and passion for justice to the political arena.

“Nairobi needs to be decisive, focused, articulate, strong, and someone who can stand firm. This is the city where the head of the country resides. This is an African city. There cannot be a person who does not have a profile.” Omar said.

The lawyer explained that he is motivated by the drive to manage the county and ensure that the county's money from the national government is used properly.

He claimed Sifuna has failed in this important role given to the Senate by the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.

The lawyer also positioned himself as the voice of the various people of Nairobi, citing his record of defending vendors, hawkers, boda boda drivers and small businessmen.

“My brother Sifuna entered the ODM wave. He never entered like Sifuna. I want to enter like Omari who has been in court, who has defended the vendors, who has defended the hawkers, who has defended the boda boda. People, who have listened to the business community.

“The business community does not mean only millionaires or international companies. The business community in Nairobi starts from a small business of five shillings to billions of resources. That is the voice that is missing in the Senate,” he said enthusiastically.

Omari, who hails from Nyamira, dismissed criticism about his origins, insisting that his journey to Nairobi represents the identity of the people of the city.
